Day Eleven...I have no more rhymes...

Just returned from our 2 day trip. It was pretty exhausting. The intention was to have us experience first hand what it is like to be on a tour as guests, but we also had to observe and learn how the tour leaders and guides handled the tour.

Today we left the Red Lion Hotel in Redding which is way up in
Northern California and we traveled east to Burney Falls:

We had a picnic lunch at Lassen Volcanic National Park:
We traveled past some awesome scenic vistas and saw amazing natural wonders.
While we were traveling over the road from one site to another we took turns presenting our 5 minute tour commentary to the group.
So it took the whole two-day trip to hear commentary from all 35 students. We had about a day to research and prepare our topic and present it in a way that was interesting and relevant to the area we were traveling in. Here is a link to my commentary if you care to read it http://tinyurl.com/6gtb79. Keep in mind that this is just the jist of what I wrote, my actual commentary was improvised...a lot.
Tomorrow is a classroom day again, when we will review the trip and the topics we learned about such as luggage handling, hotel check-in and check-out, driving directions, scheduling of rest-stops and meals...these are all things for which the tour director is responsible.
Then for Saturday we have to prepare and route a similar trip to Colorado...that is, map the route and prepare the schedule.
The day after that we get to do the same for a country...in my case, Morocco.
Wow!

This whole rhyming business literally keeps me up at night. I toss and turn wondering what you'll come up with that rhymes with eleven, twelve, etc... Now maybe I can get some sleep.

Sounds like a busy trip. The pix are amazing. It also doesn't sound like they are letting up on your guys. The intensity certainly seems to have been kicked up. I hope you're still enjoying it and doing well!!!

I can't wait to hear all about the faux trip to colorado. I've always wanted to pretend go there.

What's wrong with ( 5 days away from seven.?) Now, who will be the first one to pick on that one?
Keep up the good work.

The views are absolutely beautiful and continue to impress. I was all ready for Day Eleven... is this heaven, but oh well. Good luck with Day Twelve! I'm curious about scheduling breaks - is there a calculation? Are you responsible for averaging bladder sizes?

LOLOL
Amy,I was exhausted and thought it was too obnoxious to use heaven to rhyme with eleven but I am ashamed of myself. So look forward to more silliness in the coming days.

Chris, You should pretend to go to San Francisco someday too when you have time although I don't think Eva and Ookie give you much free time even for pretending.

And yes, about calculating of bladder sizes, you take the age of the most annoying person on the bus, multiply it by how far their seat is from the front of the bus, add the length of the bus, divide by how many people are on the bus, subtract the speed of the bus, and then you ignore all of that and stop every 1 and a half to 2 hours depending on where there are facilities available.

Funny I was thinking Heaven would work for eleven and delve would be fab to go with twelve... no shit...

you're on your own when you get to the teens.

Stay tuned for "Twelve" ;-)

That's an amazing mathematical determination of bladder calculation I've ever encountered. No wonder you understand and can answer the whole 'how are we related?' question so easily!

Then pictures are truly stunning.

And I like the rhyming, too. :D
